The Michigan State Board of Education adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) as Michigan’s K-12 content standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics in June 2010. Documents detailing the alignment of the CCSS with Michigan’s Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE) and High School Content Expectations (HSCE) in English Language Arts and Mathematics are now available at http://michigan.gov/mde/0,1607,7-140-6530_30334_51042-232021--,00.html.
These documents are intended to assist districts in the review, revision, and alignment of local curriculum to the CCSS. Educators will need to unfold these standards in order to compare them to current classroom practice and identify adjustments to instruction and materials that support the depth of understanding implicit in the CCSS. Districts are encouraged to begin the process of alignment and transition to the CCSS as soon as possible. New state assessments based on the CCSS will be implemented in 2014-2015.

Thanks for posting this, Lynnette. Though you can't "save" the files directly, I found that I can copy and paste them into a word doc to save. If you have copies that people can save to their computers directly, would you make those available?
I'm looking forward to using these in my English Education courses this fall. :)

It's one of the questions I'll be asked at the NCTE Secondary Section Committee Board Meeting next week and I'd like to be prepared.
The specific question from our Chair is "What is the status of your state on CCS implementation?"
Thanks in advance for whatever you can do to help me get accurate information about Michigan.
