Whom Would You Invite as Panelists from Business, Education, and General Research Fields?

If you could hear a "dream team" panel of experts discuss ways to engage students across the content areas while preparing them for their future workplaces, whom would you invite from the business world? Education? Research (i.e. brain research, studies related to engagement and motivation, etc.)?

I am a member of the Michigan Joint Education Conference Board, representing MCTE, and we would like to put a panel together for our June 2011 day-long conference at Coopersville High School. If you have ideas and suggestions, please share them!

Thanks.

I like the idea of having someone with a specialty in dyslexia talking to all of us about what we can do to help teach (across the curriculum) more effectively to help those students. I'm not sure who would be that person, but perhaps someone from the Teacher Ed dept at MSU or another university could help?

Great suggestion, Kia Jane.

So far, I am awaiting to hear from two folks I have invited, one representing business and one research. I will see what I can do with checking into your suggestion. May need to be a more general education speaker, since the gist of the panel will focus upon future workplace success.

Perhaps I could invite an expert from MSU or GVSU (near the event location) who may be interested in presenting a session for teachers on working with dyslexic students. If you hear of anyone, please let me know!
