Recipients must meet the following criteria:
  • Long and faithful service to the profession of English teaching
  • Distinguished leadership not only in his or her own community but also at the state and/or national level
  • Inspirational qualities for students and colleagues
  • Originality in some form having his or her own special stamp or way
  • Academic superiority
  • Current member of MCTE
The Lawson Award
Nomination Form (Word)
Recipients must meet the following criteria:
  • Demonstrated excellence in the teaching of English or Language Arts K-12
  • Distinguished leadership at the local and the state level
  • High admiration from colleagues and students
  • Unique and effective perspectives on teaching English/Language Arts
  • A minimum of ten years of teaching experience K-12
  • Current member of MCTE
